Voice coaches suggest it\u2019s when you get your message to be projected deep (below breastbone), you reach maximum effectiveness. History (modern era) has shown the masses vote for political leaders who utilize this technique. Hence, we associate depth &amp; weight &#8230; with <em><strong>power and authority<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong><span style=\"color: #339966;\">Is there a quick &amp; easy solution to boost \u201c<\/span><span style=\"color: #339966;\">LISTEN<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #339966;\">ABILITY?\u201d<\/span><strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p>The experts say \u201cIn order to enhance your <strong>LISTEN<\/strong>ABILITY all the more &#8230; you would all be wise to <strong>AVOID<\/strong> these seven deadly sins\u201d &#8230;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>AVOID:<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>GOSSIPING<\/strong><\/span> &#8211; (If someone is gossiping about someone TO you\u2014suffice it to say\u2014<em>\u201cWhat are they saying about you when YOU leave the room?\u201d<\/em>)<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">JUDGING<\/span><\/strong> &#8211; (Forming an opinion or conclusion about someone without really getting to know the person &#8230; or their position. <em>Avoid confusing \u201cconfidence\u201d with \u201carrogance.\u201d<\/em>)<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">NEGATIVITY<\/span><\/strong> &#8211; (<em>Hard to listen when a leader finds the negative in everything.<\/em> For example: You say \u201cGlorious weather we\u2019re having.\u201d Their reply is \u201cYeah, but we need the rain &#8230; my grass is taking a beating &#8230; blah, blah, blah!)<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>COMPLAINING<\/strong><\/span> &#8211; Too much complaining about situations, circumstances and others is a <em>cancer<\/em> that ultimately <em>promotes viral negativity<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">EXCUSES<\/span><\/strong> &#8211; Specifically those that pass \u201cblame\u201d onto everyone else BUT themselves &#8230; My friend refers to these types as a \u201cblamethrower.\u201d The person who affects everyone in their path. I\u2019m referring to the ones that don\u2019t take responsibility for their actions.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\">LYING<\/span><\/strong> &#8211; That <em>artform of exaggeration<\/em> &#8230; unsubstantiated exaggeration demeans credibility <em>and<\/em> language.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong>DOGMATISM<\/strong><\/span> &#8211; Those <em>people who confuse \u201cfacts\u201d with their opinions<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; color: #339966;\"><em><strong>Here\u2019s four foundations to boost LISTENABILITY &#8230;<\/strong><\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>To help you remember, let\u2019s use an acronym &#8230; <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>HAIL<\/strong><\/span>. As in <em>\u201cgreet or acclaim enthusiastically\u201d <\/em>&#8230; not the frozen, hard stuff that falls from the sky.<em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The properties of <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">HAIL<\/span><\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>\u2014when employed judiciously\u2014<\/em><\/span>will help your delivery and put you on a path to getting your message heard!<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>HONESTY<\/strong><\/span> &#8230; project your \u201ctrue blue-ness,\u201d practice being \u201ctactfully straight <em>and<\/em> clear\u201d &#8230; and <em>employ<\/em> tasteful humor when possible.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>AUTHENTICITY<\/strong><\/span> &#8230; \u201cBe yourself\u201d &#8230; stand in truth. You don\u2019t have to put on an \u201cact\u201d to impress anyone.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>INTEGRITY<\/strong><\/span> &#8230; \u201cBE your word &#8230; be someone you can trust.\u201d Here\u2019s where discretion comes in: it\u2019s all about ACTIONS! And yet, INACTIONS can be just as powerful!
